Meitantei Konan Suiheisenjō no Sutoratejī

Release Date : April 9, 2005

Running Time: 95 min.

The 9th volume (released on April 9th, 2005) of the annual Detective Conan movies sets sail on a 100 million yen luxurious cruise. 15 years ago, a cruise named Yashiromaru, built by the Yashiro group, sank while sailing. 15 years later, a new cruise, the St. Aphrodite, was built by the Yashiro group and Conan and the rest were invited via Sonoko. On the second day of the cruise ride, the mistress of the Yashiro family was found murdered in her room. Later, it was found that the President of the Yashiro group was missing from the cruise. It was soon found that President Yashiro had been thrown off the cruise into the ocean, seemingly by the same person. At the welcoming party, Kogorou shows off his deduction skills, and concluded that the sub-designer of the cruise, Akiyoshi, was the murderer. However, Conan had different ideas. Kusaka, a scriptwriter who worked in co-operation with Akiyoshi on the script, was the culprit. Kusaka immediately set off the bombs and ran off by sea and the Detective Boys gave chase. After they successfully took down the criminal, more bombs were ignited. All passengers were evacuated, but Ran returned to her hiding place during the hide-and-seek game to find a necklace the Detective Boys made for her. However, as the cruise swayed, she fainted in the enclosed area. Akiyoshi was also the murderer, and she was the one who did the killing and made Kusaka think that he did it himself. She also revealed that the accident that happened 15 years ago was not at accident, the cruise was sunk deliberately for its insurance, and that her father was the captain who died while the cruise sank. Kogorou, however, deduced correctly this time round and managed to arrest Akiyoshi. As Kogorou and Conan began to evacuate, they found out that Ran was missing. They went off the look for her, but can they find her in time?
